Notable progress has been made on town’s Friar Creek pedestrian and bicycle bridge challenge this summer time. The challenge contains the development of a brand new bicycle and pedestrian bridge and enhancements to circulation and entry – enhancing entry for residents on either side of Friar Creek, and connectivity to the bicycle and pedestrian system throughout town.
In late July, a brand new bridge was put in by crane over Friar Creek, connecting Newcomb Road to the east and present multi-use paths and Manor Drive to the west. A brand new 8-foot-wide, 60-foot-long paved bicycle and walkway will prolong from the East Bridge strategy to the present residential driveway on the north facet of Newcomb Road.
